Retreat life and codes of conducts

In order to enhance your meditation practice, the Retreat’s Eight Codes of Conducts will be a standard practice. Please note that lunch is served early, and light refreshment chocolate, milk and yoghurt will be served instead of dinner. This aims to lighten up your body which contributes to mind standstill.
The Retreat’s Eight Code of Conducts are as follows:

1. Refrain from taking lives of any creatures
2. Refrain from theft
3. Refrain sexual contact
4. Refrain from using harsh speech and telling lies
5. Refrain from alcohol, cigarettes and intoxicants
6. Refrain from consumption of food after midday
7. Refrain watching television, or other forms of entertainment
8. Be content with provided sleeping arrangements and keep simple lifestyle

These rules are intended to help us avoid distractions and find inner peace and stillness. They also help to maintain a good atmosphere during the retreat.
Therefore, men and women are not allowed to sleep in the same rooms.

Clothes
Comfortable clothes are highly recommended (for example, no tight jeans). White or light color is preferred. Please wear appropriate and not too revealing clothes. You can bring your own preferred meditation cushion to sit on.

Please note again that no dinner is served during the retreat.
